About TG² Online
The owners of TG² Online entered the turf maintenance and landscaping industry during 1987 at which time one of the owners, an electrical engineer, was studying for an MBL at Unisa.
The initial business was a garden service that serviced residential gardens. This business grew and eventually “cut” in excess of 1500 residential gardens per month in addition to maintaining a number of industrial and commercial sites.
In 1996, the owners added an irrigation contracting business to their business portfolio and in 2005 a plant hire facility. The turf maintenance business was sold in 2001 and the irrigation contracting business became the primary concern. Irrigation projects completed included numerous installations at institutions such as the following:
• Westcliff Hotel, Oprah Winfrey School, Nedbank Head Office, Sandton Convention Centre, Lanseria Airport, Japanese Embassy and Johannesburg Botanical Gardens
- Four casinos and many shopping malls such as Nicolway Shopping Mall, Centurion Shopping Mall and Irene Shopping Mall
- Many housing estates such as Zambesi Estate, Espirit, Eagle Canyon and Serengeti
- Office parks including parts of Melrose Arch, FNB Head Office on the N1 and MTN on 14th Avenue
- Up-market houses
In 2005 the owners began to import turf maintenance equipment into South Africa and in 2008 purchased a major shareholding in a lawnmower dealer shop in Kwazulu Natal.
A decision was made in 2012 to exit the irrigation construction and plant hire businesses so as to facilitate the concentration of servicing contractors in the turf maintenance and landscape industry by supplying quality products to such contractors online.
Having experienced the industry first hand for more than 25 years, the owners are familiar with the needs and requirements of the industry and are serious about offering a service that meets these needs and requirements.
Since 2012, the needs of farmers have been considered and it is believed that a selected number of these needs can be met by TG² Online; hence the inclusion of products such as shade netting and irrigation sprinklers used by farmers.
The owners of TG² Online are supporters of WWF South Africa and strive to live in harmony with nature for the benefit of our country and the well-being of all our people.
